An Insurance company, Britam says it has received claims of about K850 million from damages of cylone freddy that affected the southern region early this year.
Speaking to journalists today after donating K3 million to Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) for its lakeshire conference this year, Britam Chief Executive Officer, Wales Meja, said out of the claims, they have already paid out over K600 million.
Meanwhile, IIM President, Hastings Kapesa, has commended Britam for coming up with digital solutions and various innovations to promote the insurance industry in the country.
This year’ IIM lakeshore conference will start from 31st August to 2nd September in Mangochi.
