NICO General Insurance Company yesterday donated MK2.5 million towards the Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) Annual Conference slated for Mangochi from August 18 to 20.
The conference will be held under the theme ‘Delivering our Promises’.
NICO General Chief Operating Officer, Donbell Mandala, said his company values the importance that the conference has towards the development of the insurance industry.
Mandala said, apart from the MK2.5 million sponsorship, NICO General will also cough MK4.8 million for the participation of its members of staff.
“The insurance industry is very dynamic, therefore, there is a need for players in the industry to be knowledgeable of the changes in the operating environment so as to serve the customer better,” said Mandala.
IIM president, Immaculate Kachapira, thanked NICO General for the gesture.
She said, apart from the presentations to be made, the conference also presents an opportunity for insurance players to reflect on how the they have performed over the past 12 months as well as sharing ideas on how to improve the industry.
IIM is an arm of the insurance industry in Malawi that deals with education and training. Its main objective is to promote professionalism in the insurance industry through education and training.
