NICO Life and its subsidiary NICO Pension Services Company Limited have contributed K2 million to the Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) in support of its annual lakeshore conference to be held from August 16th – 18th at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi. This year’s conference theme is Digital Insurance: Innovate and Evolve.
Speaking after sponsorship amount was transferred to Insurance Institute, NICO Life CEO, Eric Chapola said they are always excited to participate in the annual conference being a major player in the insurance industry. He said his company values the conference as it is a great platform for insurers from various disciplines to development of the insurance industry.
He advised that although the donation is K2million the companies have also invested K6.8 million in total for the participation of its members of staff at the conference.
He also highlighted that this year’s theme also excited NICO Life as one of the company’s values is innovation and it is eager to be involved in discussions on how to service Malawi better with digital insurance solutions.
In response to the donation Chairperson of the organizing committee, Sunganani Kalizang’oma hailed the NICO Life and NICO Pensions for the donation. He said the donation was timely and will assist the institute to meet some of the expenses. Kalizangoma said, apart from the presentations to be made, the conference also presents an opportunity for insurance players to reflect on how the they have performed over the past 12 months as well as sharing ideas on how to improve the industry.
