Old Mutual Malawi Plc last week emerged winner in the Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) quiz competition held in Blantyre. The quiz is aimed at promoting knowledge and professionalism in the insurance profession. Old Mutual beat Insurance Institute of Malawi College and General Alliance Insurance Limited. llM president Immaculate Kachapila said the quiz competition shows the levels of commitment and knowledge that members have.
“We got an assurance from Old Mutual that they still be sponsoring the quiz competition. This competition is about knowledge the industry is getting and that is our mandate to achieve this goal,” she said. In his remarks, NICO General Insurance Company Limited chief executive officer Donbell Mandala, who was the guest of honour, said the quiz competition is important to the insurance industry. He said: “It helps students and our staff to learn about insurance. We expect that when they go back to their respective offices and schools, they should be able to understand the insurance subject.” Old Mutual Malawi marketing and corporate affairs executive Linda Poya said this year’s competition was a success.
